The Epiphany (Little
Christmas or Three Kings' Day) is a Christian feast day that celebrates the
revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ. The traditional date for the feast
is January 6. Here I present the read with my version of the day the Three Kings
visited Christ.
My Three Kings or Three Wise
Guys came traveling from the New World to see
Jesus Christ or J.C. as they called him. The kings knew that the kingdom of Israel hadn’t seen some of the treats of
the new world. Therefore, in their wisdom they selected items that would bring
joy and comfort to the Holy Family.
One of the kings brought
cocoa beans. He told Mary that she could make some hot chocolate for the Baby
Jesus. Mary put a little cinnamon as recommended by the kings. Everyone
delighted in this drink! Cocoa
was a treat known only for great kings and leaders.
The second king selected
fresh corn to bring to the Holy Family. The corn he said Joseph could grind
into Masa. Mary could then make fresh tortillas for the whole family. Cabrito
he said would make delicious tacos and young goats were aplenty in that part of
the country.
The third king thought that
maybe the Holy Family would be hungry when they arrived in Bethlehem . He also thought he and the rest
could celebrate the birth of the new King. Therefore, the king brought fresh
tamales. He thought four or five dozens would make a great party.
The Holy Family invited all
the shepherds in the region. Joseph made a giant piñata. Mary loaded the piñata
with treats and everyone had a wonderful birthday party.
