Next Round: Obama Admin Authorizes Billions More In Loan Guarantees to Solar Companies
SunPower and First Solar are two prominent U.S. solar manufacturers receiving billions in government-backed loans—funding meant to facilitate deployment of utility-scale photovoltaic (i.e. solar power) projects on U.S. soil, writes David Phillips of 24/7 Wall St. Energy Secretary Steven Chu has claimed on the DOE website that such incentives will create “tens of thousands of indirect jobs” in renewable power industries.
