He spoke about the treat of
fascism in the United States. After one such speech at the Hollywood Beverly
Christian Church, the pastor mentioned the possible treat of Communism in
America. Reagan thought about it and included it in his next speech.
After his speech, a woman
approached Reagan and told him that the group he had spoken to was becoming a
“front” for the Communist. That conversation woke him up to the treat of
Communism in the U.S.
Communist were hiding behind
the organization Reagan had spoken to and now he saw what groups who refuse to
come out and publicly present their views and policies can do in a democratic
society. He saw the harm such groups could do to our form of government!
He saw these groups as
remnants of the Nazi and Fascist party he helped fight during the war.
Today, we have the same kind
of groups pursuing power through deceit, slowly taking over institutions and
gaining more control through force. We see religious tolerance groups that tell
us jihad is not real. We see a federal government that tells us we are entitled
to more and more. We see a government that lies to us because they know better
or is it to protect their agenda and re-election.
Does big government
deception exist? Is big government trying to control our lives even more? Is
our government lying to us in an effort to safeguard their hope and change?
