The Three Pigs and the Federal Government

Once upon a time, there were Three Little Pigs. This was a time of great housing development in the United States. Barack Obama was giving money away for a variety of environmental causes. The federal government offered citizens and pigs rebates for building environmentally friendly housing. Being very earth conscientious, the pigs decided to hire only companies that built earth friendly houses.

The first pig hired a company that used hay to make affordable housing. The company built the house in record time. The company hired no new workers to build the inexpensive hay house. The pig had both used inexpensive material and at the same time, he had built a house that needed little energy to heat. The government gave the pig a $1,000 rebate for his house.

The second pig found a company that used repurposed wood. The wood they said was centuries old (or so they said) and was very inexpensive. They said the wood also had character with so many wormholes. The wood house company needed few workers to build the house and so the pig saved money. The pig was delighted and so was the federal government that rewarded him a $5,000 rebate.

The third pig wondered at the rebates given the other pigs. He thought about the hay; he thought about the wood. The pig did want a stronger house so he hired a masonry outfit. The house used no recycled materials and used large amounts of stone from the local quarry. The company had to hire extra help and took a while to finish his house but the pig was still extremely happy with the outcome. Unfortunately, the federal government was not happy with his results and gave the third pig no money.

You already know the results of building these three pig homes…so should I say more.
